Day 1 - Arrival in Junagadh, Visi Uparkot fort, Narsinh Mehta No Choro, Mohabbat Maqbara
Once you reach Junagadh around mid-day, check in at the hotel.

Uparkot Fort – This ancient fort was built in the 3rd century. Inside, you would see huge ancient tanks, Buddhist caves, water reservoirs, storage go-downs, etc. The Fort has influence of three major dynasties of the region – Maurya, Rajput, and Chudasama.

Shri Narsinh Mehta No Choro - This place used to be the residence of the great poet Narsinh Mehta Ji. The idols placed here are believed to be at least 550 years old. An exhibition depicts the life of Shri Narsinh Mehta ji in pictures.

Mohabbat Maqbara – This popular tourist spot in Junagadh is famous for its beautiful architecture, believed to be inspired by the Taj Mahal.

Bhavnath Mahadev Temple - This is another ancient temple, which gives visitors a beautiful view of Girnar Mountain. This Shiv Temple invites a throng of devotees on the occasion of Mahashivratri.
The Sardar Patel Dwar (Gate) opposite Junagadh Railway Station is illuminated between 8 and 10 PM daily.

Day 2 – Visit Maa Ambaji Temple, Ashok Shilalekh, Khapra Kodiya Caves & explore food
Girnar Khaman - Girnar Khaman is an old eatery at Kalwa Chowk and it serves customers between 9 am and 9 pm. Here, you'll get to eat snacks like Khaman, Sandwich Khaman and Samosa, etc.
Head to the most popular destination in Junagadh - Girnar Talheti. It serves as the base point for the pilgrimage to Maa Amba Ji & Guru Dattatreya Temples. There are two ways to reach the top -
- Ropeway Ticket - Rs 700 per person (Duration 10 min) takes you directly to Maa Amba Ji temple. For Guru Dattatreya temple, you need to climb stairs.
- Online tickets are also available if you want to avoid long queues during tourist season.
- There is also a popular Jain Temple in the vicinity for which you need to trek.
Maa Amba ji Temple – One of the 51 Shakti Peeths in India, this temple offers the unique Darshan of Goddess Amba Ji’s face. From here, you can enjoy a bird’s eye view of entire Junagadh city.

Guru Dattatreya temple – Located near the Amba Ji Temple, you need to climb 4000 steps back and forth to visit here. This temple is dedicated to Sage Dattatreya, who is believed to have meditated here during ancient times.

Ashok Shilalekh (2 KM from Girnar Talheti) - These rock inscriptions are actually edicts of Emperor Ashok, carved in 250 BC. The edicts conveyed general beliefs such as respect for animals, respect towards elders, kindness towards prisoners, etc.

Khapra Kodiya Caves (4 KM from Girnar Ropeway) – These 3rd century caves are where Buddhist monks used to live, pray and meditate for years at a time.
Willingdon Dam (4 KM from Caves) - This dam is built on the Kalwa river, which flows in between the Girnar & Datar mountains. This dam was built in 1929, during the reign of Governor Willingdon, thus the name! You can take a walk to enjoy the strong breeze and the picturesque surroundings.
Damodar Kund (1 KM from Ashok Shilalekh) – A rare temple offering you the darshan of Lord Damodar (Lord Krishna) and his son Pradyuman. The pond in front of the temple is known as the Damodar Kund.
