Day 1 - Tea Estate & Mall Road Visit

Head up to Happy Valley Tea Estate It is 3 km from Mall Road. A ten-minute cab ride will take you to the Happy Valley Tea Estate, you can see the beautiful tea garden, can enjoy the awesome views of Darjeeling. Guided tours are free of cost and take the guests around the procedure of production and packaging. It ends with a tea tasting session. (Timings – 9:30 am to 4:00 pm) The tour is 2 hours long on average.

Shri Mahakal Temple - Visit Observatory Hill View Point and pay obeisance at Shri Mahakal Temple, way to reach the temple is steeper will take about 15 minutes to walk uphill, from which you can get a pretty good peripheral view of the entire city. The temple is dedicated to the Hindu God, Shiva. It was established in 1782 by Lama Dorjey Rinzing.

Day 2 -Tiger Hills, Batasia Loop, Darjeeling Zoo Visit & Local Food
Wake up early and reach Tiger Hills around 4.15 am to see the sunrise out of Mt. Kanchenjunga.
- YigaChoeling Monastery (Old Ghoom Monastery) was built in 1850 and is also the oldest Tibetan Monastery. During April you get to see Rhododendrons bloom.
- Batasia Loop is a beautiful park that has a spiral railway created to lower the gradient of ascent of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway in Darjeeling.
- The Druk Sangag Choling Monastery (3 km from the city; 9minutes) which is also known as the Dali Monastery, was built in 1971. The archway of the monastery is a splendid sight. To reach the prayer hall one needs to climb a steep flight of stairs.
You may head back to your hotel and get some rest before getting breakfast.

Toy Train Ride (optional) – You may go for a joy ride by the heritage toy train. This may be booked in advance through normal IRCTC booking. Select the Joyride steam engine ride (not diesel), which is more exciting. This is a 2-hour ride, to and fro between Darjeeling and Ghum, including a halt at Ghum station, where you can see a small railway museum. (Travel Distance – 8 km)
The option is for those people, who want to take a toy train ride, this can be skipped, you can explore another sightseeing tour of Darjeeling.

- The Darjeeling Zoo (Opening Hours – 8:30 AM-4:30 PM during the summer seasons & 8:30 AM-4:00 PM during the winter season. Remains closed on Thursdays) is the only one in the country which is internationally recognized for its conservation breeding programs of Snow Leopards, Red Panda, Tibetan Wolf, and other endangered species.
- The HMI Museum (Closed on Tuesdays. 9:00 AM-1:00 PM & 2:00 PM-4:00 PM) is the oldest mountaineering museum in the country which was established by Jawaharlal Nehru in 1957.
- The Bengal Natural History Museum – Located on the premises of the zoo, the museum is dedicated to Himalayan fauna. Although the museum contains preserved animals and insects of all sorts, the main attraction is the collection of birds and bird eggs. The museum timings are 8 am to 7:30 pm. There is no separate charge for visiting.
- Ropeway – Ticket -Rs 200 per person Timing – 11 am to 4 pm (journey time -20 minutes) (you get a view of Tea Garden, city view & if the weather is clear, you can also see the Kanchenjunga peak.

- The Penang Restaurant is located at Laden La road to try out their authentic Nepali Thali which comes in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.
- Sholo Ana Bangali: Famous Bengali cuisine chain has an outlet in Darjeeling too.
St. Paul’s College (famous for shooting films like Main Hoon Naa / Barfi). (5 km from Darjeeling Rangeet Valley ropeway) (2 km from Penang Restaurant).
Rock Garden – This is a must-visit spot, surrounded by greenery, flower garden, sitting area, where you can relax enjoy the beauty of nature, it also has a natural beautiful waterfall, well-maintained garden, you will need to climb upstairs to reach the top. (10 km from Darjeeling, the way to the rock garden is steeper, you might need to hire a local driver to reach this garden.
Go shopping at the Chowrasta Mall area for souvenirs, tea, Tibetan and Buddhist items. If you are a book lover, visit the Oxford Book and Stationery Co. The shops usually stay open till 8 PM.
Finally, head to dinner at Noryang Tibetan Kitchen – a newly opened homely restaurant, where they prepare everything fresh and right in front of you.

Day 3 - Departure from Darjeeling, NJP or Bagdogra
Grab some breakfast at Keventers to grab a full British breakfast experience with a view of the grand Mt. Kanchenjunga. After that, you may check out from your hotel and proceed to NJP.

You can take the route of Mirik Lake and get some last moment sightseeing done at the Simana View Point, shop at the Simana Bazaar at the Pashupati Market located near the Nepal Border (FYI you need valid I.D. to enter the place).
Proceed to visit the Sumendu Lake to do some boating and grab from Bengali food and finally head to NJP or Bagdogra.
