Day 1: Shamlaji Temple, Meshvo Reservoir and Explore Local Food

- Assuming you reach Modasa around noon, have an early lunch so that you can spend the rest of the day seeing the sights in the town.

- Ashapura Bhojanalaya: This eatery is famous for its Gujarati cuisine, especially the Lauki (bottle gourd) juice. It is located at Shamlaji Road.
- Palate Restaurant: This eatery is famous for South Indian and Punjabi food. It is located on Modasa Bypass road.
Shamlaji Temple: After lunch, travel to Shamlaji Temple, which is 20 km from the city centre. The 6th-century temple, dedicated to a Swayambhu representation of Lord Vishnu, is thronged by devotees throughout the year.
- The temple timings are 8 am to 12 pm and 3 pm to 8 pm. There is a special Aarti ceremony every evening at 7 pm.
- One of the main features of this temple complex is the Harish Chandra Kund, which is reminiscent of the time when the great King visited the area in ancient times.
Museum: There is a Buddhist Museum located on the backside of the Shamlaji Temple, which contains excavated artefacts from a Buddhist monastery discovered about 2 km from the temple.
- The monastery site is now submerged in the water of Meshvo reservoir.

Meshvo Reservoir: Walk around 2 km from the temple to reach Meshvo Dam.
- The catchment area is spread over 259 square km is meant for irrigation purposes and provides water to the villages around the temple. Walk back to the temple for the evening aarti and then move back to the town for some shopping. See the things to buy section below.

Day 2: Explore Polo Forest

- Umiya Khaman House: This eatery is famous for its Khaman Dhokla and Sev-Usal. It is located near the bus stand.
- Saurashtra Gathiya Shop: This eatery is famous for its jalebi and fafda which goes well with its green chatni. It is located in Indira Nagar.
- Jagabhai Teawala: One of the best tea vendors. It is located near ITI.
- Bhavnagari Farsan Mart: This eatery is famous for its Samosa. It is in Rajeev Complex, DIP Area.
Polo Forest: Located at a distance of 80 km from the town, it is also known as the Vijaynagar forest. This forest has remained an ancient hiding place for rulers of the region trying to escape enemies.
You can catch a bus from the Modasa bus stand, It costs Rs. 50 per person, to reach the forest.
- You can see wild animals such as Cheetah, Bear, Deer, and fox there, on a jeep safari that takes about an hour to complete.
- This forest area is home to the region’s tribal population who remain connected to nature even today.
- The forest is located across 400 sq. km. area and is home to more than 450 medicinal plants and about 275 bird species like the endangered Grey Hornbill and Brown-headed Barbet, hiding up in the fig trees.
- The forest also offers a chance for trekking, with the route stretching up to 25 km.

Day 3:Jesing Bapa Samadhi, Zanzari Falls.
After having breakfast at the place where you stayed overnight return back to Modasa.
- Shrimad Jesing Bapa Samadhi: On the way back you can see this place which is located at a distance of around 35 km from the forest.
- This tomb is dedicated to an ancient sage. It is located next to the Bheska river in Ganthiyol village. Bapa was an animal lover and the Trust that looks after the tomb also runs an animal care center.
- Zanzari Waterfall: This scenic place is located at a distance of around 90 km from the town. Take a small hike to reach this waterfall, which is a series of cascades, on a wide, rocky riverbed, with pools for swimming.
- This is located on the banks of the Vatrak river, by the village Dabha. The main waterfall is 25 feet high.
Move back to Modasa and then return to your home.
